Sadly, this is all that is left of where a school once stood. Almost all one room
schoolhouses had a pump out front, and this is the actual pump that was by this school.

I’m not sure if this is the same school house 6. But my garage on US 62 out here used to be school house 6. We have a well pump in our yard as well, that might have been confused with this one.
ReplyDeleteAccording to all the older maps, 1870-1890, there was a school sitting in this exact same location. A lot of schools were built within 1-2 miles of each other. ??
